Over the next couple of weeks Alida and Miller would like to  show you what we think are some of the most beautiful homes from all over the world. From America to Australia to Africa to Germany to Iceland to England and Ireland, and even so these countries couldn't get any different culturally, we are all looking for the same thing, a place to call home.

The reason we put Solange Knowles at the top of our American list is because we think she is the epitome of cool. Solange is in my home town this week preforming at The Falls Festival Byron Bay. The festival runs for 4 days over the New Year period and has 25,000 people a day making their way to the venue to see their favourite artists. Here in Australia being so isolated it's a big deal to have these over seas artist preform for us, and the crowd always lets them know how appreciative they are.
I knew of Solange's amazing style from video clips and magazines, but I wanted to find out whether that style carried over into her interior design, I was not disappointed

The second home owned by Solange Knowles is her beloved rustic weatherboard in New Orleans.
The house is so well know it has been in many books and magazines. Solange is living part time in this beautiful eclectic home in Bywater just down the road from the French Quarter, the home has been restored in the style of vintage rustic charm, and each room has a different colour palette. The home was built in the 1830s and the original features are all still intact. One of the rooms have been converted into a massage room and with 3 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms there should be plenty of room for guests.  The team at Alida and Miller voted this house to be our favourite, how could you not love the relaxed feeling of this home, with it's old world charm, wooden window shutters and all the amazing colours, the style of this home obviously  reflects some one with a big personality.
